Course Overview

The philosophy of the Bachelor of Communication (Hons) Interpersonal Communication (MC247) is grounded in the belief that the essence of human connection lies in the ability to communicate meaningfully and empathetically. Communication is not merely the transfer of information; it is the foundation of trust, collaboration, and the building of relationships that transcend industries, professions, and cultures.

This program reflects the conviction that every graduate should embody the qualities of an active listener, thoughtful interpreter, and confident communicator. We believe that through the integration of knowledge, skills, and values, students can master both verbal and nonverbal communication while developing the emotional intelligence needed to foster respect, resolve conflicts, and strengthen relationships in diverse settings.

Entry Requirements

General Requirements:

SPM

• Possess the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with at least:
  • Grade C in Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Melayu (July Paper).
  • Grade E in Sejarah (History) from the year 2013 onwards.

AND

STPM

• Pass the Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) with at least:
  • A minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.00.
  • Grade C in Pengajian Am (General Studies).
  • TWO (2) Grade Cs in any other subjects not already counted.

AND

MUET

• Obtain at least Band 1.0 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) for examinations starting from Session 1 of 2021, with a validity period of 5 years from the date the test results are released.

Specific Requirements:

• Obtain a minimum CGPA of 2.00 at the STPM level.
• Obtain at least a Grade C in Pengajian Am (General Studies) at the STPM level.
• Obtain at least a Grade C in any TWO (2) other subjects not already counted at the STPM level.
• Obtain at least a Grade C in the English subject at the SPM level.
• Obtain at least a Grade E in ONE (1) of the following subjects at the SPM level:
  • Mathematics / Additional Mathematics
• Obtain at least Band 3.0 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) for results obtained from Session 1 of 2021 onwards, with a validity period of 5 years from the date the test results are released.
• Open only to candidates of Malay descent, Anak Negeri Sabah, Anak Negeri Sarawak, and Orang Asli.
