SPM 2025 Results: National Average Grade Hits 5-Year High as 94.3% Qualify for Certificates

The 2025 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination results have recorded the best overall performance in the past five years, with the National Average Grade (GPN) improving to 4.42 points, down from 4.49 in 2024.
Education Director-General Datuk Dr Mohd Azam Ahmad announced that a total of 366,435 candidates, or 94.29% of those who sat for the exam, are eligible to receive their SPM certificates. This marks an increase of 10,502 candidates compared to the previous year.?

"The 2025 SPM results reflect the effectiveness of the Ministry of Education's continuous efforts in providing inclusive and quality education. We are particularly proud of the narrowing gap between urban and rural candidates, which shows our commitment to educational equity," said Datuk Dr Mohd Azam Ahmad.
?Subject Performance and STEM Success
A total of 63 out of 95 subjects showed an improvement in performance. Notable highlights include:
- Pendidikan Islam: Recorded the highest increase in performance, improving by 0.79 points.
- STEM Electives: 8 out of 12 Applied Science and Technology subjects showed improvement, with Electrical and Electronic Engineering Studies leading the way.
- Humanities: 11 out of 12 elective Humanities and Professional Arts subjects recorded better results, with Entrepreneurship Studies showing the most significant gain.
