What is the PISMP Programme?
The Program Ijazah Sarjana Muda Perguruan (PISMP) is a teacher training programme offered by the Malaysian government through the Institut Pendidikan Guru (IPG). It prepares selected students to become teachers in national schools.
Students accepted into the programme will undergo professional teacher training and complete a Bachelor of Education degree, typically over several years at an IPG campus. After graduating, they are expected to serve as teachers in the Malaysian education system.
Because the programme is government-sponsored and offers a direct pathway into the teaching profession, PISMP is highly competitive and attracts many applicants each year.
This PISMP programme aims to train teachers to fill up various teaching vacancies in Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK),Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJKC) and Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil (SJKT). Eligibility to apply for the SJKC pathway includes: SPM school leavers, STPM school leavers, UEC holders, and applicants through special admission channels.
