About the Bursary

TAR UMT JINBODHI Bursary is established to provide bursary to underprivileged students to further their studies in TAR UMT.

Eligibility

  • Must be a Malaysian citizen.
  • Students who obtained admission to TAR UMT for full time diploma or degree programmes with at least one more year of studies before completing the current programme of studies.
  • Be from a household who earns a combined income of not more than RM5,000 per month.

Note: The bursary application opening in November 2026 is not open to students enrolled in the January 2027 intake.

Value of the Award

  • This bursary provides up to RM10,000.00 per annum per recipient, with a maximum of RM30,000.00 per recipient per programme of study.
  • For recipients awarded the bursary at more than one level of study (e.g., Diploma and Degree), the total cumulative amount shall not exceed RM40,000.00.
  • A maximum aggregate cap of RM40,000.00 per family shall apply. This cap applies cumulatively to all JinBodhi Bursary assistance received by members of the same family, including across progression of programmes, irrespective of the institutions, number of recipients, or application periods within the same family.
  • For the purpose of this JinBodhi Bursary, recipients shall be deemed to belong to the same family if they share one or both biological parents, or are stepchildren of a common parent, irrespective of whether they reside in the same household.

Terms and Conditions

  • Successful applicants have to sign an acceptance letter and agree to abide by the terms and conditions as set therein.
  • The eligibility of each recipient for the Bursary shall be reviewed on a semester basis. Any continuation of the Bursary into a subsequent semester shall be granted solely at the discretion of TAR UMT and shall be subject to the recipient’s satisfactory academic performance and conduct.
  • During the tenure of the Bursary, the recipient shall not receive any other scholarship, bursary, or monetary award from any other source without the prior written consent of TAR UMT.
  • The recipient shall be required to attain a minimum GPA of 2.75 for each semester, in addition to maintaining a CGPA of 2.75 or above throughout the course of study.
  • Withdrawal from any subject(s) during the course of study is strictly prohibited.
  • All Bursary disbursements shall be made through the Department of Finance of TAR UMT.
  • The Bursary is non-transferable and shall not be exchangeable for cash. The value of the Bursary shall be applied solely towards the settlement of tuition fees and other related academic charges imposed by TAR UMT.
  • The recipient is encouraged to participate in at least one (1) charitable activity or event organised by the Bodhi Meditation Charity Foundation each academic year, provided that such participation does not compromise the recipient’s academic performance.

Application Procedures

Online Application is to be made via Student Intranet in November.

Online application steps

  1. Step 1: Login to Student Intranet.
  2. Step 2: On the left panel, click on “Application”. Under “Application”, click on “Financial Aid”.
  3. Step 3: Select the type of financial aid you wish to apply. Read the Conditions & Procedures. Complete the form carefully. Submit application online.
  4. Step 4: Submit / courier the hard-copy application form and supporting documents. The completed application form shall be printed out and submitted by hand / couriered together with all supporting documents as listed in the application form to the Financial Aid Unit, Department of Student Affairs at KL Main Campus or to the Student Affairs Office at the Branch Campuses before the stipulated closing date.

Note: The application will lapse automatically if you failed to submit the complete form & documents within the given time frame.

Applicants who have been shortlisted for the interview must attend the interview sessions. The Faculties / Branch Campus will contact shortlisted applicants via email, phone call, or text message to provide the interview details. Hence, applicants are advised to check their emails, phone calls, and text messages regularly.
