About the Scholarship
Launched in conjunction with MCEF’s 50th anniversary in 2025, the MCEF Mendaki Scholarship represents MCEF’s flagship initiative. It reflects MCEF’s enduring commitment to provide financial support for academically outstanding and well-rounded young Malaysians who aspire to pursue or are currently pursuing studies in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (“STEM”) covering computer science, medicine & health sciences, AI/Machine Learning/Robotics at universities in Malaysia, for academic year commencing in 2026.
Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must satisfy the following criteria:
- Possess strong academic, extracurricular, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Minimum 4As at STPM or 3.75 CGPA for matriculation/foundation or most recent undergraduate academic year.
- Malaysian citizens not exceeding 35 years of age.
- Gained admission to top Public or Private Education Institutions in Malaysia.
- All STEM courses at top Public or Private Education Institutions must be fully certified or accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency to be wholly undertaken and completed in Malaysia.

Established in September 1975, the Malaysian Community and Education Foundation (MCEF) is a company limited by guarantee with a tax exempt status. MCEF provides financial assistance to Malaysians who have either inadequate or no other means of financial support to pursue their education. The beneficiaries are encouraged to give back to society by applying the skills that they have in their field of study to serve all Malaysians by taking part in activities that contribute to the upliftment of the community at large.
