DASEIN Study Grant by Portfolio

The DASEIN Study Grant by Portfolio is a portfolio-based study grant introduced by Dasein Academy of Art in 2019.
It supports and recognises Malaysian students with strong artistic talent who wish to pursue studies in the creative arts. Applicants are required to submit an art portfolio for review by the Dasein Scholarship Committee. Shortlisted applicants may be asked to attend an interview for portfolio verification.
This grant is open for application across all intakes each year.
Scholarship Value
Partial tuition fee waiver ranging from:
- RM1,000 — RM200 x 5 long semesters
- RM2,000 — RM400 x 5 long semesters
- RM3,000 — RM600 x 5 long semesters
- RM4,000 — RM800 x 5 long semesters
- RM5,000 — RM1,000 x 5 long semesters
- RM6,000 — RM1,200 x 5 long semesters
- RM7,000 — RM1,400 x 5 long semesters
- RM8,000 — RM1,600 x 5 long semesters
- RM9,000 — RM1,800 x 5 long semesters
- RM10,000 — RM2,000 x 5 long semesters
Eligibility / Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be Malaysian students with strong artistic talent.
- Submit official SPM, UEC, IGCSE, or equivalent qualification results that meet the minimum entry requirements.
- Submit an art portfolio in softcopy format, such as PDF, Google Drive or Dropbox.
- Complete and submit the Dasein Scholarship & Study Grant Application Form with all required supporting documents.
- Be full-time registered students at Dasein Academy of Art.
Key Conditions
- Forecast results are not accepted.
- The grant applies to the year of admission, not the year of application.
- Students must pay their first-semester tuition fees before classes begin.
- Approved study grants are provided over five long semesters:
- Year 1 Semester 2
- Year 2 Semester 1
- Year 2 Semester 2
- Year 3 Semester 1
- Year 3 Semester 2
- Study grants are released each semester after approval.
- The grant is non-transferable and not exchangeable for cash.
- Students repeating a semester due to unsatisfactory performance or academic misconduct must pay full tuition fees for that semester.
- If a student withdraws or is expelled, the study grant will be forfeited immediately.
- Study grant applies to tuition fees only. Miscellaneous fees, library fees, graduation fees and other additional fees are not included.
Grades to Maintain
- RM1,000 to RM5,000 grant: GPA 3.0 and above
- RM6,000 to RM10,000 grant: GPA 3.3 and above
Application Deadline
Application forms must be submitted to the Dasein Finance Department within 3 weeks of the first day of class.
