Institution Overview

English Language Company (ELC) Malaysia is an award-winning English language school located in the vibrant heart of Kuala Lumpur. As the Malaysian campus of ELC Sydney — Australia's most awarded English school and recipient of the prestigious STM Lifetime Super Star Award – Southern Hemisphere — we bring world-class English education to Southeast Asia. Our modern, light and spacious campus sits in the bustling Bukit Bintang district, right in the centre of Kuala Lumpur's major transport, tourist, shopping and entertainment districts. We are just a 5-minute walk from several of KL's premier shopping centres, a 10-minute walk from the iconic Petronas Twin Towers, and within easy reach of KLCC Park, Chinatown, and the Central Market. Popular restaurants are on the school's doorstep, and the area offers convenient access to monorail, train, and bus stations.

World-Class Facilities

Students learn in 18 bright, well-equipped classrooms within comfortable, modern premises. Our unique eat, meet and speak spaces are the perfect places to break out and practise your English. Facilities include comfortable student common rooms, chill spaces for quiet learning and reading, a student café with friendly staff, a dedicated study centre, and free WiFi throughout the school. For students studying at our UOW Malaysia Campus location, facilities include a 50,000 sq. ft. library, IT labs, discussion cubes, and multi-purpose learning spaces.

Our Teaching Approach

ELC is a fun school that is serious about learning. We are owned and operated by teachers, so we know what it takes to make a great school. On your first day, you will take a placement test and a spoken interview to ensure you are placed in the class that is right for you. Our teachers use a variety of approaches to present and practise language and skills in real-world contexts. Lessons are all face-to-face, but teachers use the latest digital resources to ensure that your lessons are varied, up-to-date and dynamic.

Our classrooms and learning spaces have been specifically designed to facilitate communication and comfort. You will work independently, in pairs, or collaboratively in groups depending on what suits the lesson. With small classes — maximum 20 students, with an average of 12 — you will receive the personal attention you need to make maximum progress. Every Monday you will take a short progress test to revise and assess what you have studied, and you will receive regular tutorials with your class teacher to discuss your progress.

• Academic English & IELTS Preparation — Prepare for university or college studies in English, develop academic skills, and prepare for the IELTS examination.
• General + Business English — Use English effectively in an international workplace, improve business vocabulary, written and spoken communication, and essential soft skills.
• Super-Intensive IELTS — A high-impact boot camp designed for rapid results, helping you master proven exam strategies and improve your score in just a few intensive weeks.
• OET Exam Preparation — The world's only international English test specifically for healthcare professionals. We offer preparation courses and exam booking at our Bukit Bintang campus, with options for private one-to-one classes, mini groups, and workshops.
• English at UOW Malaysia Campus — Study English in a dynamic university setting with access to world-class campus facilities.
• Junior Program — Designed for students aged 8 to 15, featuring English language lessons, unique Young Leader Classes, and sightseeing trips around Kuala Lumpur. Summer and Winter Camps available.

Customise Your Course

Our unique study system allows you to tailor your course to your individual needs and interests. Full-time day courses run from 9:30am to 4:00pm and follow a three-part structure:

• Major Courses (15 hours/week) — Your main program of study.
• Special Focus Modules (5 hours/week) — Elective classes focusing on your specific goals, including Speaking, Listening & Vocabulary (SLV), Real English, Business English, English for Further Studies, Writing Skills, Grammar, and IELTS Testbuster.
• English Extras (5 hours/week) — Optional workshops and activities including Pronunciation, Conversation, Film English, Anecdote, Cultural Studies, Excursions, Guided Independent Study, Presentations, Exam Skills, and Soft Skills.

You only need to choose your main course before you leave home; the rest can be chosen when you arrive. It's easy!
