Course Overview

As a medical college and integrated higher education institution, Widad University College not only focuses on health but also offers industry-relevant science programmes, including sports and fitness.

The Diploma in Coaching Science is a 3-year full-time programme designed to produce competent sports coaches, suitable for SPM leavers interested in fitness, athlete training, and professional sports performance.

The curriculum is comprehensive and emphasises a balance between theory and practical. Students will study core modules such as:

• Biomechanics
• Sports Injury Rehabilitation Science
• Sports Psychology
• Sports Facilities and Event Management
• Leadership and Ethics in Coaching

Students are also exposed to industry-standard fitness testing, communication skills training in sports and therapy contexts, and involvement in physical activities, competitions, and community sports projects.

The programme provides opportunities for industrial placement and a final year project, making it a solid academic pathway for further studies in sports science, exercise physiology, or professional sports management.

Ministry of Higher Education (KPT): Widad University College is recognised as COMPETITIVE (BERDAYA SAING) in SETARA 2022.

Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA): Diploma in Coaching Science has obtained FULL ACCREDITATION from MQA.

The Golden Globe Tigers Awards: Widad University College is recognised as 'BEST ACADEMIC INSTITUTIONS'.

Entry Requirements

Entry Requirements

1. SPM / SPMV: Pass with 3 credits in any subjects and pass a fitness test.
2. UEC: Pass with minimum Grade B in 3 subjects.
3. O-Level: Pass with minimum Grade C in 3 subjects.
4. SKM Level 3 in related field and SPM with 1 credit (with bridging if needed).
5. Community College Certificate equivalent to MQF Level 3 in related field and SPM with 1 credit (with bridging if needed).
6. Certificate (MQF Level 3) or equivalent in related field with CGPA 2.00.
7. STPM: Pass with minimum Grade C (NGMP 2.00) in any subject.
8. STAM: Pass with minimum grade MAQBUL.
9. Other qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government.
