Global environmental issues such as climate change, pollution and the depletion of natural resources can adversely affect human health. These challenges have increased the importance of environmental protection legislation, hazardous-substance control, green technologies, sustainable materials and waste-treatment technologies.
Work environments have also changed significantly, with employees potentially exposed to hazardous substances, heavy machinery and occupational diseases. Occupational safety and health practices are therefore essential for protecting employees from workplace hazards.
The Bachelor of Science (Honours) Occupational Safety and Health with Environmental Health is a multidisciplinary programme combining environmental health with occupational safety and health.
The programme develops professional knowledge, technical capabilities and soft skills, preparing graduates to undertake different roles and responsibilities within challenging and dynamic working environments.
Formerly known as Bachelor of Science (Honours) Environmental, Occupational Safety and Health.
