Accounting involves the systematic recording, categorising, analysing and reporting of financial information, as well as the preparation of financial statements in accordance with the rules and regulations governing financial reporting.
Accountants analyse the performance and financial health of businesses. They provide meaningful financial information that supports sound decision-making and helps organisations plan and achieve their business objectives.
This 3.5-year accounting programme leads to an accounting degree recognised by the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA). After graduation, graduates with three years of relevant working experience may apply to become Chartered Accountants with MIA. Graduates may also be eligible for exemptions from selected professional accounting examinations.
