Course Overview

The Master of Medical Science (by Research) is a postgraduate degree designed to allow students to pursue research topics in a range of areas and disciplines within the scope of Medical Science.

The programme aims to equip postgraduates with advanced knowledge and specialised skills in medical sciences for impactful careers in research, healthcare, and academia.

Curriculum

• MMS1101 Research Methodology
• MMS1102 Dissertation

Candidate must successfully complete and pass research methodology course within the first two (2) semester of registering as a student at QIU.

This programme is a research programme leading to the submission of a dissertation as per the Faculty of Medicine master’s dissertation guidebook.

Entry Requirements

Minimum Entry Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6 Malaysian Qualifications Framework, MQF) in Medical Science or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent, as accepted by the QIU Senate; or
• A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in Medical Science or related fields or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 and not meeting CGPA of 2.75, can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment; or
• A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in Medical Science or related fields or equivalent with minimum CGPA of 2.00 and not meeting CGPA of 2.50, can be accepted subject to a minimum of 5 years working experience in the relevant field and rigorous internal assessment.

English Language Proficiency Requirements for International students: IELTS Academic: 5.5 or its equivalent (include MUET Band ≥ 4)
