Course Overview

The Bachelor of Finance (Hons) degree provides students with strong theoretical and conceptual foundations in finance, as well as the ability to apply classroom learning to real-world problems. The degree aims to produce well-rounded graduates and develop their skills in quantitative techniques -which are vital for the analysis of financial data and financial securities. Students will experience Malaysian securities market trading simulations and participate in a variety of events conducted by professional bodies like the Malaysian Financial Planning Council (MFPC) and the Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB).

Entry Requirements

Minimum Entry Requirements

  • Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM): Pass with a minimum CGPA of 2.33 or Grade C+ in two (2) subjects, and pass SPM with credit in Mathematics and pass in English
  • Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM): Pass with Jayyid and pass SPM with a credit in Mathematics and a pass in English
  • Matriculation / Foundation: Pass with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 out of 4.00 and pass SPM with a credit in Mathematics and a pass in English
  • General Certificate of Education Advanced (”A”) Level: Pass A-Levels with a minimum pass in two (2) subjects, a credit in Mathematics at O Level, and a pass in English
  • Unified Examination Certificate (UEC): Pass with a minimum grade B in five (5) subjects with a credit in Mathematics and a pass in English
  • Recognised Diploma in a related field: Other qualifications equivalent to Diploma in Finance, Banking, Insurance or related field (Level 4, MQF) with a minimum CGPA of 2.50
  • Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM) / Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM) / Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM): A Pass with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 OR A Pass with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and with a minimum of 2 years working experience in the related field

Note: The HEPs are to conduct screening and provide necessary guidance specific to the discipline of the programme.

  • Other Qualifications: Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government
  • English Proficiency for International Students: IELTS 6.0 / Band 4 in MUET or its equivalent.

Note:

  • The credit requirement for Mathematics and pass in English at SPM level or its equivalent for STPM, STAM, and Matriculation / Foundation can be waived should the qualifications contain Mathematics and English subjects with equivalent/higher achievement.
  • Those without a credit in Mathematics and/or a pass in English at the SPM level or its equivalent can be admitted but are required to attend special enhancement course(s). These special enhancement courses should be SPM equivalent and remedial in nature. Students must pass the Mathematics and English enhancement courses as a prerequisite to related core courses.
  • All fees are in RM (Ringgit Malaysia) currency unless stated otherwise.
