Course Overview

The Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ODL) is designed for aspiring and working educators who want to advance their careers without disrupting their work or personal commitments. This flexible, exam-free programme is delivered through an online campus, allowing students to learn at their own pace.

The programme builds strong foundations in early childhood education, child development and care practices while developing practical teaching skills, reflective thinking and professional competencies. Students engage with digital learning materials, real-world classroom scenarios and applied assessments to gain the confidence and knowledge needed to support young children’s learning and development.

Students will learn about child development, early childhood philosophy, teaching approaches, classroom management, curriculum planning, health and safety, inclusive education, literacy, creative expression, assessment, family engagement and professional ethics.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must meet any one of the following requirements:

  • A pass in SPM with a minimum of three (3) credits in any subject or equivalent qualification; or
  • A pass in the Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with a minimum of three (3) Bs; or
  • A pass in O-Level with a minimum of three (3) credits; or
  • Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) Level 3 to pursue a Diploma in the same field; or
  • A Certificate (Level 3, MQF) in a related field with a minimum CGPA of 2.00; or
  • Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government.
