Course Overview

The Diploma in Hotel Management offers a flexible pathway for students and working adults to build professional knowledge and skills for the hospitality industry without putting their existing commitments on hold. Delivered through open and distance learning, the programme allows students to study anytime and anywhere using practical, industry-relevant learning materials.

Students will gain the core knowledge and technical competencies needed to contribute to the modern hotel industry. The programme develops skills in hotel operations, customer service, leadership, teamwork, hospitality marketing, food and beverage management, accommodation management, entrepreneurship and ethical decision-making.

Students will also learn to identify business opportunities, manage hospitality operations and develop practical solutions to operational challenges.

Achievement

This Diploma is approved by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE).

Entry Requirements

Applicants must meet any one of the following requirements:

• A pass in SPM with a minimum of three (3) credits in any subject or equivalent qualification; or
• A pass in the Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with a minimum of three (3) Bs; or
• A pass in O-Level with a minimum of three (3) credits; or
• Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) Level 3 to pursue a Diploma in the same field; or
• A Certificate (Level 3, MQF) in a related field with a minimum CGPA of 2.00; or
• Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government.
