The Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) programme at Manipal University College Malaysia (MUCM) is offered by one of Malaysia’s oldest and most established private medical institutions, with more than 25 years of medical education expertise.

Curriculum
The MBBS programme is delivered over 10 semesters. Semesters 1 to 4 cover Phase 1 Pre-Clinical Subjects, while Semester 6 onwards covers Clinical Subjects, with students spending most of their time in bedside teaching at partner teaching hospitals.

Notes:
Anatomy encompasses cadaveric and 3D virtual dissection using the Anatomage table.
Students undertake a one-month clinical elective posting of their choice, locally or internationally, on a self-sponsored basis. Anaesthesia, Dermatology and Imaging are interspersed between junior and senior clerkships.
Entry Requirements
All applicants, except those with degree qualifications, STPM or A-Level, must fulfil the requirement at SPM / O Levels or its equivalent. A combination of SPM and O Level results is allowed to fulfil the entry requirement.
SPM / O Levels or equivalent
5 Bs each in: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics / Additional Mathematics, and another subject.
UEC
B4 each in 3 subjects: Biology, Chemistry, and Physics / Mathematics / Advanced Mathematics.
STPM / A-Levels
Grades BBB, ABC or AAC, or CGPA 3.0 out of 4.0, in 3 subjects: Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics.
A combination of A Level or STAM and STPM is allowed to fulfil the entry requirement.
UEC entry to medical programme
B4 each in 5 subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Advanced Mathematics I or Mathematics, and Advanced Mathematics II or Advanced Mathematics.
Matriculation / Foundation in Science / Pre-Medical Programme
CGPA 3.0 out of 4.0 in 3 subjects: Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics.
Minimum grade for each subject is C, GP 2.0.
The course must not be less than 1 year and must be completed in the same institution.
Monash University Foundation Pre-University Programme (MUFY) / Equivalent Programmes
Equivalent programmes include University of New South Wales (UNSW) Foundation, Western Australia Curriculum Council, HSC Sydney Australia, Trinity College Foundation Studies, Australian Universities Foundation Programmes, South Australian Matriculation (SAM), Victorian Certificate of Education Australia Year 12, or Australian Matriculation (AUSMAT).
Aggregate or equivalent of B in 3 subjects: Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics; or
80% ATAR, provided the subjects include Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics.
National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) Level 3 / Equivalent Programme
Average of 80% in 3 subjects: Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics.
Canadian Pre-University (CPU) / Equivalent Programmes
Equivalent programmes include Canadian International Matriculation Programme (CIMP), Canadian Grade 12/13, or Ontario Secondary School Diploma Grade 12.
Average of 80% in 3 subjects: Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics.
Indian Pre-University
Obtain Eligibility Certificate from National Medical Commission India.
Pass the NEET Exam.
Average of 70% in 3 subjects: Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics.
International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme
Minimum overall score of 33 points.
2 science subjects, Biology and Chemistry, at Higher Level (HL), and Mathematics at HL.
Minimum score of 5 each in Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
Diploma in Health Sciences or equivalent
CGPA 3.5 out of 4.0.
The programme must not be less than 5 semesters or 2.5 years and must be completed in the same institution.
At SPM / O Level or equivalent: minimum 2 Bs in any 2 subjects from Biology, Chemistry or Physics, and credits in 3 subjects: English, Mathematics or Additional Mathematics, and another subject.
Degree in Health, Pure Sciences or Applied Sciences
CGPA 3.0 out of 4.0 for entry to the 5-year medical programme.
Degree in Arts or Humanities
CGPA 3.5 out of 4.0 for entry to the 5-year medical programme.
Notes:
The minimum age requirement for entry into a medical programme is 18 years old during admissions.
Malaysian citizens seeking employment in the public sector must fulfil the criteria set by the Public Services Commission of Malaysia (SPA).
A person shall be disqualified from entry into a medical programme if found guilty of offences affecting the human body; recent or serious dishonesty such as cheating in examinations, falsification of documents or plagiarism; serious physical or mental illness; or serious communicable disease.
The English Language competency requirement is mandatory only for international students.
For international qualifications, in the absence of SPM / O-Level qualification, the institution must be able to provide evidence that the matriculation, foundation or pre-medical programme is equivalent to General Certificate of Education Advanced (“A”) Levels.
The application for qualification equivalency can be made to ENIC NARIC or Scholaro.

Graduates of the MBBS programme may pursue medical practice and further professional development pathways, subject to meeting the relevant regulatory, registration and housemanship requirements.
