The Diploma Early Childhood Education (DECE) programme at KPJCJB is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of early childhood development and education through a balanced approach of theory and practical experience. Curriculum

• Semester 1: Child Growth and Development, Early Learning and Early Environment, Programme Planning, Guiding Young Children
• Semester 2: Ethics and Civilization, Creative Learning Through Play, Pedagogy Teaching in ECE, Physical Education
• Semester 3: Decision Making, Spiritual and Moral Development
• Semester 4: Integrity & Anti-Corruption, Partnering with Families, Language Development & Literacy, Social Studies
• Semester 5: Administration & Management of ECE Centres, Teaching Science, Teaching Mathematics, Teaching English
• Semester 6: Introduction to Special Needs, Health, Safety and Nutrition
• Semester 7: Professionalism, Professional Practice, Observation and Assessment, ICT in ECE
• Semester 8: Community Service (CSR), Curriculum Planning, Art and Craft
• Semester 9: Practicum Preschool, Practicum Nursery

Entry Requirements

• Pass SPM with a minimum of 3 credits in any subjects; OR
• Pass in Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia STPM with a minimum of Grade C (GP 2.0); OR
• Pass in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia STAM with a minimum grade of Maqbul; OR
• Certificate Level 3, MQF in any qualification with at least a CGPA of 2.00; OR
• Pass in SKM/SVM Level 3, MQF in Early Child Care/Preschool (Note: HEPs need to conduct specific screening and guidance related to the field of the programme for the students); OR
• Other relevant equivalent qualifications recognized by the Malaysian government as equivalent to the above requirements.
