Course Overview

The Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (Hons) was first offered in 2018 and received full accreditation in 2021.

Diploma graduates may apply for credit exemption or credit transfer for certain subjects.

The programme covers key elements such as pedagogical skills, early childhood development, curriculum content, educational psychology, teaching and learning theories, learning assessment, children's health, safety and nutrition, and children's spiritual and moral development.

Entry Requirements

Entry Requirements

1. STPM or equivalent: Pass with minimum Grade C (NGMP 2.00) in any two subjects.
2. STAM: Pass with minimum grade Jayyid.
3. Matriculation / Foundation / equivalent: Pass with minimum CGPA 2.00.
4. Diploma in Early Childhood Education (Level 4 MQF): Pass with minimum CGPA 2.00.
5. Diploma or equivalent: Pass with minimum CGPA 2.00 in any field.
6. DKM / DLKM / DVM: Pass with minimum CGPA 2.50, subject to Senate / Academic Board approval.
7. DKM / DVM: Pass with minimum CGPA 2.00 and at least two (2) years of relevant work experience.
8. Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government.

Additional Requirements (Malaysian Students)

• MUET minimum Band 3.

Additional Requirements (International Students)

• TOEFL score of at least 500; or
• IELTS score of 5.0 or equivalent.

Exemptions apply for students from English-speaking countries or those with qualifications from institutions using English as the medium of instruction.
