Course Overview

The Doctor of Philosophy/PhD (Management) programme emphasises research as the main requirement for obtaining the degree.

Meanwhile, there is no required number of credits for graduation, students need to register for several courses to strengthen their knowledge foundation. Students are also required to participate in academic discussions and seminar presentations.

At the end of the programme, students are required to submit a thesis to the Thesis Examination Committee as a significant contribution to the knowledge mastered in the chosen field.

Entry Requirements

Entry Requirements

  1. Option 1: A Master's Degree (Level 7, MQF) in a related field accepted by the Senate of the PPT.
  2. Option 2: A Master's Degree (Level 7, MQF) in an unrelated field accepted by the Senate of the PPT, subject to relevant work experience and rigorous internal assessment.
  3. Option 3: A Master's Degree (Level 7, MQF) in an unrelated field accepted by the Senate of the PPT and without relevant work experience, subject to passing prerequisite courses.
  4. Option 4: Other qualifications equivalent to a Master's Degree (Level 7, MQF) recognised by the Government of Malaysia.

English Language Requirements

  • International students must have English speaking and writing skills and possess one of the following qualifications:
  • Minimum MUET score of Band 4; or
  • Equivalent to CEFR (Mid B2).

Exemptions:

  • Students from countries such as the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand where English is the official language. They must provide proof as confirmation.
  • International students who have a Bachelor's degree from any university in Malaysia.
