Course Overview

The Master of Science in Management programme emphasises research as the main requirement to obtain the degree.

Although there is no specific number of credits required to complete the programme, students are required to enrol in several courses to strengthen their knowledge base in the field of research. They are also required to participate in academic discussions and seminar presentations.

In addition, they are required to present a thesis to the Thesis Examination Committee to certify a significant contribution to knowledge that has been carried out in a selected area.

Entry Requirements

Entry Requirements

1. A Bachelor Degree (Level 6, MQF) in related fields with minimum CGPA of 2.75 as accepted by the PPT Senate.
2. A Bachelor Degree (Level 6, MQF) in related fields with minimum CGPA of 2.50 and below 2.75 may be accepted, subject to rigorous internal assessment.
3. A Bachelor Degree (Level 6, MQF) in related fields with minimum CGPA of 2.00 and below 2.50 may be accepted, subject to at least 5 years of relevant working experience and rigorous internal assessment.
4. A Bachelor Degree (Level 6, MQF) in non-related fields with minimum CGPA of 2.50 as accepted by the PPT Senate, subject to relevant working experience and rigorous internal assessment.
5. A Bachelor Degree (Level 6, MQF) in non-related fields with minimum CGPA of 2.00 and below 2.50 as accepted by the PPT Senate, subject to at least 5 years of relevant working experience and rigorous internal assessment.
6. A Bachelor Degree (Level 6, MQF) in non-related fields with minimum CGPA of 2.00 as accepted by the PPT Senate and without relevant working experience, subject to passing pre-requisite courses.
7. Other qualifications equivalent to a Bachelor Degree (Level 6, MQF) recognised by the Malaysian Government.

English Language Requirement

International students must have speaking and writing skills in English and possess one of the following qualifications:

• Minimum MUET Band 4; or
• Equivalent to CEFR (Mid B2).

Exemption: Students from countries such as the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and New Zealand that use English as an official language. They must provide proof as confirmation.

Exemption: International students who have a Bachelor Degree from any university in Malaysia.

Career Prospects

The Master of Science in Management programme emphasises the development of knowledge and skills required for career advancement either locally or internationally.

Graduates can further their studies at PhD level in the same or related fields at any university in Malaysia or abroad.

Graduates are also eligible and capable of holding positions in the public or private sector. Suitable positions include lecturer, manager and researcher.
