Course Overview

This programme prepares future accountants with strong foundations in accounting theory and practical skills. Recognised with a 5-Star QS Rating for Programme Strength, it reflects excellence in academic quality, employability, and industry relevance.

This programme covers the theoretical and conceptual accounting matters combined with the basic accounting skills needed to make graduates employable. It prepares students to become professional accountants.

The curriculum has been designed to fulfill the requirements of professional accounting bodies like CPA Australia, ACCA, ICAEW, MIA and many others where exemptions can be obtained. At the same time, the curriculum provides a student with a broad-based education, thus enabling success in the highly competitive work environment.

Furthermore, top accounting professionals from the Big 4 accounting firms are invited to participate in teaching as adjunct staff. They bring real-world perspectives into the classroom setting, enriching the knowledge base of students aiming for a job in accounting.

Programme Details

• 3-year honours programme
• 34 subjects including a graduation project and internship (compulsory)
• 14 weeks for full semester; 7 weeks for half semester

Seminar (Career Skills)

Seminars covering the following areas will be conducted and all students are required to attend. Although these seminars do not count as credits towards graduation, all HELP graduates must be trained in the following essential skills:

Entry Requirements

Entry Requirements

Applicants must have one of the following Entry requirements:

1. Matriculation/Foundation or its equivalent: Minimum CGPA of 2.50 out of 4.00**
2. Diploma in Accounting / related field or its equivalent: Minimum CGPA of 2.50 out of 4.00**
3. STPM or its equivalent: Minimum Grade C+ (GP 2.33) in any two subjects**
4. Certificate in Finance, Banking, Insurance or related field (Level 3, MQF): Minimum CGPA 2.00 out of 4.00
5. Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM): Minimum grade of Jayyid (good)**
6. A-Level: 2 passes
7. Senior Middle 3 (UEC): 5 B’s***
8. CPU: 5 passes with a minimum average of 50%
9. Australian Matriculation Programmes: University Aggregate of 50% or ATAR score of at least 50 for various programmes
10. Equivalent qualification

**The stated qualifications must be supported with a credit in Mathematics and a pass in English at SPM level. This requirement can be waived should the qualification contains Mathematics and/or English subject(s) with equivalent/higher achievement.
