Course Overview

This programme provides a strong foundation in design, history, technology, sustainability and professional practice. Approved by LAM and provisionally accredited by MQA, it aims to exempt graduates from LAM Part I and is the first step in the professional pathway to becoming a qualified architect in Malaysia. The programme integrates creative vision, BIM mastery, and environmentally responsible practices.

Entry Requirements

General Requirements

Direct Entry to Level 1 of the Degree

STPM

• Minimum Grade C in 2 subjects and a Credit pass in SPM/O-Level Mathematics or equivalent

A-Level

• Minimum Grade D in 2 subjects, excluding General Paper and a Credit pass in SPM/‘O’ Levels Mathematics

UEC

• Pass with Minimum 5Bs, including Credit in Mathematics

Foundation

• Pass with minimum CGPA 2.00

Diploma

• Pass with CGPA 2.00

Direct Entry to Level 2 of the Degree

Architecture Related Diplomas

• A Diploma in Architecture related areas with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and fulfilment of requirements for Credit Transfer is subject to approval by the APU Academic Board.

Any qualification that APU accepts as equivalent to the above.     

Note: The above entry requirements may differ for specific programmes based on the latest programme standards published by Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). The qualification and entry requirements for the programmes will be determined based on the "" published by Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).   

A Credit pass in Mathematics at SPM/O-Level or equivalent qualification can be waived should any other higher qualifications contain Mathematics with an equivalent/higher achievement. 

Pass the Architecture Aptitude Test to be determined by the HEP as required.

Career opportunities include: Architectural Assistant, Design Consultant, Building Technologist, Urban Designer, Interior Designer, Project Coordinator, Building Information Modeler (BIM), Sustainability Consultant, and Project Manager.
